Santa Monica to Commemorate 150th Anniversary:
July – December 2025
This year, Santa Monica marks 150 years since its founding on July 14, 1875. To commemorate this milestone, the community will host a six-month celebration dedicated to reflecting on our city's complex history.
The anniversary is an opportunity to:
Honor the diverse cultures and achievements that have shaped our city.
Promote restorative justice and share untold stories.
Inspire meaningful dialogue and community connection.
Local artists, organizations, and community groups are invited to participate by hosting public events that celebrate the people and stories of Santa Monica.
